Any showers easing during Friday evening, with cloud melting away to give clear skies during the early hours of Saturday. A cold night with a widespread frost and the potential for icy stretches. Minimum temperature -3 °C.

Saturday:

A cold, frosty start with plenty of blue sky. Sunshine turning hazy into the afternoon but staying dry with light winds. Rain and some snow arriving overnight, and turning windy. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Rain and snow clearing Saturday night and into Sunday with blustery showers following behind. Sunny spells and showers on Monday then somewhat drier on Tuesday. Winds easing again.

Some heavy rain is likely in places, with some snow at times in the north, mainly on high ground. Temperatures varying from around average to cold at times, especially in the north. While unsettled weather is likely to dominate, there will be some drier interludes between weather systems. Later in the period, there is a chance that more prolonged drier and settled conditions may begin to develop.
