South West England weather forecast

Headline:

More cloud on Thursday, but sunshine prevailing towards the weekend.

Today:

Variable amounts of cloud to start Thursday; this clearing to provide lengthier sunny spells in the afternoon. Dry for most, but isolated light showers in the north initially. A warm day, particularly in sunnier moments. Maximum temperature 25 °C.

Tonight:

Late sunny spells to end the day. Staying dry overnight but patchy low cloud and fog developing in places. Mild in general, though slightly fresher than last night. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Friday:

Any low cloud and patchy fog soon clearing, leaving a fine and dry day with lengthy periods of strong sunshine. Feeling hot with only a light breeze. Maximum temperature 29 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

A largely settled period with lengthy sunny spells after early morning cloud clears. Warm in the sunshine, though also turning windier. Showers possible in the west on Sunday and Monday.

Any showers will probably be confined to the southwest of the UK but could be heavy and thundery. Temperatures are likely to be well above normal, especially in the south. Later, it will likely become more changeable with some showers or longer spells of rain at times. Rainfall is expected to be highest in the south where some heavy, thundery showers are possible, with drier conditions further north. Some periods of dry and settled weather are also likely to develop at times. Temperatures are expected to be above normal.
