Today:

Some brightness in places first thing, but skies turning overcast during the morning. Spells of rain through the afternoon, possibly turning heavy over the Moors. Turning increasingly windy. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

Rain clearing to showers then turning mostly dry by morning. Often windy, though winds easing a little overnight. Staying largely frost-free. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Monday:

A few light showers are possible but otherwise mostly dry with easing winds. Some sunny spells and although still chilly, feeling more pleasant in lighter winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

A few light showers are possible, but otherwise early next week looks mainly dry. Cloudy periods are likely but there'll also be sunny spells. Turning warmer but breezy at times.

A broad northwest to southeast split is most likely during this period. The northwest is likely to be more unsettled with low pressure systems moving in at times, bringing periods of strong winds and showers or longer spells of rain. In the southeast, high pressure will have greater influence, with more settled, drier weather as a result. Temperatures overall are likely to be near to or slightly above normal, but there remains the chance of some overnight frost.

High pressure may be dominant early in this period, which would bring plenty of dry and settled weather across the UK, especially in the south and perhaps east. Any low pressure systems bringing wetter, windier weather are most likely to affect the north. Towards the latter part of April, low pressure patterns may become more prevalent, with unsettled or more changeable conditions developing widely. Temperatures are likely to be close to or slightly above normal.
