Rather chilly first thing with some early morning spells of sunshine. Turning increasingly cloudy through the day, with spells of rain spreading into northern parts by the afternoon. More widely wet later. Feeling chilly in a brisk northwesterly wind. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

Remaining breezy with further spells of rain through this evening, especially in the west. Turning drier across eastern areas overnight and feeling chilly where clear skies develop. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Monday:

A drier day for many with some sunny spells, although a few scattered showers will continue to plague western areas. Staying rather breezy, especially along the coasts. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Remaining changeable through this week with sunny spells and scattered showers, these perhaps merging to longer spells of rain. Still rather breezy, but with temperatures slowly recovering to average.

The end of October and first part of November is likely to be changeable with low pressure patterns tending to dominate, bringing spells of unsettled weather across the UK. This will mean showers or longer periods of rain will spread across most parts of the UK during this period. Some heavy rain is possible in all regions, but the largest totals will probably be across western areas. Strong winds are also likely at times, with a risk of gales. Between weather systems some short lived dry and bright intervals may develop, which bring the risk of overnight fog and frost. Temperatures overall though will probably be close to or slightly above average for the time of year.

Unsettled conditions will probably be dominant across the UK at first, with showers or longer spells of rain for many areas and a risk of strong winds. Temperatures are expected to be around normal. During the second half of November, the most probable outcome is for increasing amounts of dry and fine weather, although with some overnight fog and frost. Any wetter spells are most likely to affect the north of the UK.
