Rain across Argyll this evening will gradually extend southeast overnight but turning light and patchy in the south. Becoming dry by the end of the night. A moderate southerly breeze, easing. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Wednesday:

Some brightness across Argyll. Otherwise rather cloudy with a little light and patchy rain at times. Light winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

A dry and settled few days with some sunshine. Mild, but cold overnight with some frost. Light winds throughout.

A transition to a more changeable and in places rather unsettled spell of weather looks to take place at the start of this period as Atlantic frontal zones cross the UK. These are likely to be most active in the north and somewhat weaker further south, closer to a ridge of high pressure extending northeast from the subtropical Atlantic. It is possible that we may see a briefly widely colder interlude with northerly winds during the final week of March, which would bring the potential for some snow, especially for northern areas. Widely strong winds could also develop around this time. By the end of March, high pressure may become rather more dominant with plenty of dry weather, but with some overnight fog and frost.

Blocked or slowly evolving weather patterns are favoured during the first week or so of April. High pressure is the preferred flavour of this block; this probably centred to the north or northwest of the UK. This means plenty of dry weather, possibly with some pleasantly warm days, but an ongoing chance of overnight fog and frost. Moving further into April, there is an increasing chance that high pressure will become less dominant and thus a greater chance of more places seeing some rain and possible stronger winds from time to time. Overall, temperatures panning out somewhere near to or a little above average.
