    Cold for the next few days with wintry showers possible.

    Today:

    Some early bright spells and a frost slowly clearing. Clouding over from the northwest with showery outbreaks of rain developing for the remainder of the day, the rain turning locally heavy. Continuing to feel chilly as northerly winds gradually strengthen. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

    Tonight:

    Showers continuing through the evening and overnight, turning wintry on higher ground from the north. Lower levels could see sleet through the early hours. Brisk winds, strongest in the west. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

    Wednesday:

    Early wintry showers will move away to the south. Skies brightening to give plenty of sunshine, though further wintry showers are likely to develop in the west. A cold wind. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

    Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

    Staying cold with sunny spells. Wintry showers in the west slowly easing. A change into the weekend as wind and rain moves in allowing temperatures to increase closer to average.
