Showers easing for a time this evening with occasional clear spells. Further showers arriving from the west but not as heavy as on Monday. Breezy. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Tuesday:

Another day of sunshine and showers, but these less intense and frequent than on Monday but may merge into longer spells of rain. Remaining breezy. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Largely dry on Wednesday but heavy rain arriving overnight. Unsettled on Thursday with showers or longer spells of rain and strong winds. Becoming drier on Friday and turning colder.

Remaining unsettled to start the period as an area of low pressure clears into the North Sea. Outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, and strong winds will likely ease through Friday as the low continues to move eastwards. This will leave a colder northerly flow for a time at the weekend which will be showery around the coasts but with sunny spells inland. Into the following week, conditions are expected to be changeable with showers or longer spells of rain across many parts of the UK. The cold northerly will likely give way to a more changeable westerly pattern and the wettest weather will probably be in parts of the north and west. Temperatures are expected to be close to or slightly below normal for the time of year.

These will bring spells of rain, heavy at times, and some strong winds, interspersed with drier, brighter, and less windy periods between systems. The heaviest rain will probably be across northern areas at first, migrating to western areas later. Temperatures are expected to be close to normal or perhaps slightly above.
