Cloudy overnight with outbreaks of rain, sleet and hill snow pushing across the region. Skies clearing later, allowing temperatures to fall below freezing and resulting in icy stretches on untreated surfaces. Coastal gales possible for a time. Minimum temperature -3 °C.
Wednesday:
Any remaining cloud clearing first thing, leaving the region with a largely dry and sunny day. Feeling cold despite this, particularly when exposed to the brisk northerly winds. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Staying mostly dry but cold for Thursday and Friday with sunny spells. A change this weekend as rain moves in, allowing temperatures to increase towards average.
