Dry and sunny start to the evening with a fresh breeze. Cloud then increasing from the west, as winds strengthen ahead of a band of heavy rain moving east around dawn. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Tuesday:

Windy start, with rain slowly clearing east and becoming lighter through the morning. Turning brighter with some sunny spells developing, and perhaps a few showers. Winds also easing. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Sunny spells and showers, perhaps heavy at times. Some heavier and more persistent rain possible, most likely early Thursday, with more frequent showers Friday. Temperatures near or just above average.

The unsettled weather of previous days is expected to continue at least through the start of this period, with many - if not all - areas seeing showers or longer spells of rain, and occasionally strong winds. At first, wet weather may be focussed across the south of the UK but it looks like this focus will fairly quickly shift northwards during the first few days. Towards the middle of June, there is an increased chance that high pressure will become more dominant, at least in the south. This would result in some longer periods of drier weather, although unsettled spells remain likely. Following a rather cool start to this period, there is a greater chance of warmer spells towards mid-June.

Changeable weather is most likely across the UK with a mixture of Atlantic weather systems moving in from the west interspersed with dry and sunny periods, perhaps with a bias towards longer dry spells early in the period. Temperatures are most likely to be near or slightly above normal, perhaps with some hot spells at times especially across the south.
