Today:
A dull and damp start, with widespread cloud and outbreaks of rain across the region through the morning. Rain turning more showery through the afternoon. Some snow over the Peak District. Often breezy, and feeling colder than Wednesday. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Tonight:
Remaining unsettled this evening with rain turning heavy and more persistent again at times. Staying wet overnight too. Any hill snow diminishing though. Winds easing a touch, and staying frost-free. Minimum temperature 4 °C.
Friday:
It will be damp and cloudy again through Friday with rain throughout much of the dry, turning heavy at times. Generally lighter winds, but still breezy around any heavy downpours. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Mostly dry initially on Saturday, but further showery rain arriving. The odd shower on Sunday and possibly Monday, but somewhat drier with occasional brighter interludes. Temperatures closer to average.
