Any residual rain quickly clearing northeastwards through the evening, with clear spells and heavy, blustery showers overnight. Winds continue to strengthen, with coastal gales likely. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Strong winds, coastal gales and heavy, blustery showers continue on Monday. Some brighter spells possible between the showers. Feeling cool when exposed to the wind. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

A brighter and drier day on Tuesday before turning wet and windy again on Wednesday. Winds easing on Thursday with sunny spells and a scattering of showers. Temperatures around average.

The wettest conditions expected to be across western parts of the country. There are signs that through the course of this period, drier spells will start to become more prolonged, especially across the south and east of the country due to a greater influence of high pressure.
