Strong winds and blustery showers continue on Monday, with winds easing and showers fading overnight. A brighter and drier day on Tuesday before turning wet and windy again on Wednesday.

The wettest conditions expected to be across western parts of the country. Some wet and windy spells remain probable but these potentially more focused in the northwest. Temperatures likely around average early in this period and often feeling rather cool given unsettled conditions. Increased chance of some warmer spells later in the period.

These will bring spells of rain and showers, some of which are likely to be heavy at times with a risk of hail and thunder, and some windy conditions, especially if any deep lows form. Some drier, more settled spells are also likely, especially towards the south, perhaps more particularly early in the period when higher pressure may be more dominant. Temperatures are likely to be close to average overall, although chilly nights with some fog patches are possible when and where skies are clear and winds light.
