A lot of cloud once again, this perhaps thick enough to give an isolated light shower. Most places staying dry though, and feeling pleasant in any sunshine with lighter winds. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Tonight:

A fairly cloudy night for most with the odd light shower possibly pushing through at times. Not as cool as last night. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Saturday:

Mainly dry on Saturday with a mixture of cloud and occasional sunny spells. After a cool start it will feel pleasantly warm in any sunshine. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Staying largely dry with a mixture of cloud and sunny periods. Feeling warmer than recent days with temperatures above the late-August average. Showers or rain possible later on Tuesday.

Low pressure is expected to dominate this forecast period, with bands of rain and showers, perhaps slow moving at times which could bring some fairly wet days for some places. That being said there will be a good deal of dry weather in between showers and frontal bands of rain. Winds could be strong at times, especially around coasts as low pressure systems move through. As has been the case over the last few days, and normal for the time of year, confidence in details is lower than average. This is due to the activity in the tropical Atlantic, and how any systems move into mid-latitudes to help develop further low pressure systems which may affect the UK. Temperatures should be around average, still feeling pleasant enough during drier spells.

Most signs indicate low pressure could dominate, and therefore unsettled or changeable weather looks more likely. This brings potential for periods of strong winds and spells of rain, but with spells of fair weather in between. Confidence through this period, however, is low. Temperatures are likely to be near to, or slightly above average overall.
