It will be a dry day and mostly cloudy. There is a chance of some bright or sunny intervals breaking through with these mainly in eastern and central areas, staying most cloudy near the coast. Light winds. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

It will be a dry evening with a few clear intervals, but mostly cloudy. Staying dry overnight with overcast cloud. Light winds. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Friday:

Little change with another dry day to come and staying cloudy with very isolated brighter spells, these most likely in the east. Winds strengthening along the west coast this evening. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Mostly dry and cloudy on Saturday with a little light rain possible later. Cloudy on Sunday and Monday as rain spreads north-eastwards, rain heavy at times. Winds strengthening on Saturday.

The unsettled weather looks to continue, with areas of low pressure running in from the west or southwest. This means further spells of rain or showers, possibly accompanied by strong winds at times, with one particular watch point for this in the first couple of days of this period. That said, some drier interludes are still probable, though the duration of these much shorter than the predominantly dry spell at present. Temperatures probably near normal overall, but day-to-day values high dependent on the track of any lows. Later in the period, there may be a transition to a slightly cooler and more showery northwesterly regime, as high pressure builds over the Atlantic and low pressure becomes centred to the east of the UK.

It is likely to be changeable at first, with a showery northwesterly regime most favoured across the UK. Into November, an unsettled pattern is anticipated, as low pressure systems over the Atlantic track across the UK. These may be shifted farther south than normal, bringing showers or longer spells of rain fairly widely, perhaps also accompanied by some strong winds at times. Temperatures will probably be close to or slightly above average overall.
