A cloudy start with patchy outbreaks of rain, these most frequent and persistent across northern counties. Brighter in the south with a few sunny breaks between spells of rain. Light winds and still feeling mild. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Staying cloudy with further spells of rain overnight, these merging into more persistent spells in the south by dawn. Much chillier than recent nights, with a touch of grass frost. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Friday:

Wet and windy on Friday with heavy spells of rain in the south at times. Mainly dry across northern counties until this evening. Feeling colder than recent days. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Drier and more settled this weekend, with cloudy skies for many but some sunny periods as well. Feeling notably colder in northerly winds, with overnight frosts possible.

Many central and northern parts of the UK will likely be in a colder but drier regime than of late with overnight frosts, and a few showers near windward coasts in particular which may be wintry on high ground. However, it could remain cloudier, milder and wetter initially across some southern and southwestern areas, with some uncertainty as to how quickly this clears away to the south. It is most likely that the bulk of the UK will experience drier and colder conditions into the first part of next week. Later in the period there is increasing uncertainty, but a trend towards more changeable conditions is possible, with some rain or showers in places, and perhaps some hill snow at times in the north. Temperatures overall may return to near-average.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are very uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
