Fine and dry with warm bright spells.

Today:

A chilly start with any early mist and fog clearing during the morning. A bright day then unfolding, with a mixture of hazy sunshine and sunny spells. Feeling pleasantly warm in the spring sunshine with light winds. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

Remaining fine and dry this evening but higher cloud building from the north overnight. Turning chilly with some mist and fog patches developing by the morning. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Sunday:

Early mist and fog lifting to give a few early bright spells. However, cloud increasing, with patchy outbreaks of rain sinking southwards during the day. Feeling cooler than of late. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Mostly fine on Monday, though outbreaks of rain and strong winds arriving later and through Tuesday. Cooler by Wednesday with a mix of sunshine and blustery heavy showers.

Still rather changeable at the start of this period, with further frontal systems moving across the UK, bringing some rain and stronger winds at times. Through late March, high pressure is likely to be located to the west or southwest of UK, with a predominantly northwesterly airstream in place. Further weather fronts are likely to round this high, bringing occasional rain to the north and perhaps east of the country, whereas areas further west stand a better chance of being dry. In this setup, it may be rather cool for most, with some overnight frost where skies are clear and winds light. Into early April and high pressure may become rather more dominant, with many areas seeing dry, settled conditions.

Blocked or slowly evolving weather patterns are favoured through the early part of April. High pressure is the preferred flavour of this block; this probably centred to the west or north of the UK. This means plenty of dry weather, possibly with some pleasantly warm days, but an ongoing chance of overnight fog and frost. Some rain is still possible at times as weak frontal systems cross the UK. Moving further into April, there is an increasing chance that high pressure will become less dominant and thus a greater chance of more places seeing some rain and possible stronger winds from time to time. Overall, temperatures panning out somewhere near to average.
