Today:

A few bright spells possible to begin. Skies will turn increasingly cloudy though, as a band of rain spreads erratically eastwards throughout the day. The rain turning heavy at times during the afternoon and accompanied by a brisk wind. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

A wet and cloudy night with the rain turning heavy and persistent at times. Southern areas likely to turn drier and clear towards dawn. A mild night for most. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Monday:

Rain across the north clearing, to leave a day of bright spells and a scattering of showers, with the showers perhaps heavy in places. Temperatures widely above average. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Remaining unsettled but mild throughout the period. Further bands of wind and rain likely to move across the region, but some drier and clearer intervals developing in-between.

The start of this period is likely to be remaining largely unsettled and overall mild across all except the north of Scotland, with bands or areas of rain potentially becoming slow-moving. Rain is more likely to be focused across the south and east. Locally strong winds may also accompany some of the rain. Some drier spells are also likely, the best of these probably towards the north west. Where skies are clear and winds light overnight, frost and fog are likely, the fog slow to clear. Towards the end of this period, we may see a transition towards more generally drier weather across the UK, and with this it is likely to turn a little cooler overall, with a greater risk of overnight frost.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are very uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
