A fine evening although likely feeling humid. Breezy for many, especially along the coast. Cloud increases from the west with rain arriving over western hills during the early hours. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Tuesday:

A cloudy start to the day with outbreaks of showery rain, clearing east to sunny spells and isolated blustery showers. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Unsettled conditions will prevail, with spells of wet and windy weather interspersed by occasional brighter intervals. Temperatures are expected to remain close to the seasonal average.

Changeable and unsettled weather conditions are expected across the UK during this period with low pressure systems tending to dominate the overall pattern. This will mean showers or longer spells of rain will affect the majority of the UK at times. Some heavy rain or showers are expected in places, most often in the west, although with a risk some of this could spread to other areas at times. Thunderstorms and hail are also possible, as are some spells of strong winds if any deep areas of low pressure form in the vicinity of the UK. Some short-lived spells of drier weather are likely between systems. Temperatures will likely be close to average, but may rise above at times in any drier, sunnier spells.

Most signs indicate low pressure will continue to dominate initially, and therefore unsettled or changeable weather looks more likely. This brings potential for periods of strong winds and spells of rain, but with spells of fair weather in between. The south may turn more settled and drier as we head further into September.
