Headline:

Colder on Monday but mostly sunny, wintry showers by mid-week.

This Evening and Tonight:

Cloud amounts will continue to reduce through this evening with skies clearing through the early hours. Turning cold with a widespread frost developing in the countryside and even some frost in towns and cities. A risk of icy patches developing. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Monday:

After a frosty start, it will be a dry and mostly sunny day with just small amounts of fair weather cloud at times. Feeling chilly despite the light northerly breeze. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Rain at times on Tuesday, wintry over hills later. Heavy wintry showers mid-week, with some snow possible. Sunny spells on Thursday. Much colder with frost and ice. Windy at times.

Many central and northern parts of the UK will likely be in a colder but drier regime than of late with overnight frosts, and a few showers near windward coasts in particular which may be wintry on high ground. However, it could remain cloudier, milder and wetter initially across some southern and southwestern areas, with some uncertainty as to how quickly this clears away to the south. It is most likely that the bulk of the UK will experience drier and colder conditions into the first part of next week. Later in the period there is increasing uncertainty, but a trend towards more changeable conditions is possible, with some rain or showers in places, and perhaps some hill snow at times in the north. Temperatures overall may return to near-average.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are very uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
