Cloudy start to the evening with outbreaks of rain before turning dry with clear spells developing. Dry for most overnight with clear spells. Winds becoming strong at times. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Tuesday:

Sunny spells and blustery showers throughout the day, which may be heavy. Showers mostly in the west with eastern Aberdeenshire staying largely dry and milder. Strong winds at times. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Showers Wednesday turning increasingly wintry. Wintry showers early Thursday before becoming dry and bright. Friday turns cloudy with rain clearing to showers. Winds mostly fresh to strong, briefly lighter Thursday.

A broadly changeable pattern will continue, at least through the first part of this period, as further frontal systems move across the UK, bringing rain and stronger winds at times. Weather fronts are likely to be more active across northern areas, thus the wettest and windiest conditions are more likely here. As they come south, often running in to a ridge of higher pressure extending from the southwest, frontal systems will often be weaker and rainfall amounts smaller. In this setup, temperatures will probably pan out close to average overall, with some overnight frost where skies are clear and winds light.

High pressure will probably be dominant at the start of this period, the centre of which transferring from somewhere west or southwest of the UK to somewhere to the north of the UK. As such, plenty of dry weather seems most likely, but with changes in wind direction leading to some quite marked differences in cloud amounts and temperature from day to day. Moving further into April, there is an increasing chance that high pressure will become less dominant and thus there is a greater chance of more places seeing some rain and possible stronger winds from time to time. Overall, temperatures panning out somewhere near to average.
