    Today:

    Cloudy with rain becoming confined to Shetland through the morning and sunny spells developing for Orkney. Rain clearing Shetland in the afternoon with some bright spells developing. Dry with sunny spells for Orkney. Light winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

    Tonight:

    It will be a dry evening with long clear spells developing. Remaining dry overnight with a few clear spells but generally turning cloudier. Light winds. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

    Tuesday:

    Dry and cloudy start. Rain, sometimes heavy, spreading over Orkney in the morning. Rain continues north over Shetland, becoming dry in Orkney by late afternoon. Winds strengthening with coastal gales. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

    Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

    Cloudy on Wednesday with showers or longer spells of rain and gale-force winds. Thursday and Friday remain mostly cloudy with occasional rain interspersed with dry periods, and breezy at times.
