Shetland will have a dry evening. Orkney starting dry then outbreaks of rain by mid-evening, which extends to Shetland during the early hours of Sunday, before clearing Orkney come dawn. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Sunday:

Shetland dull and damp first thing but quickly brightening. Then a dry day with long sunny spells. Moderate to fresh southerly winds becoming a strong southeasterly later. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Bright spells and only a few scattered and generally light showers through the outlook period, with the Northern Isles probably seeing some of the best of the country's weather.

Changeable and unsettled weather conditions are expected across the UK during this period with low pressure systems tending to dominate the overall pattern. This will mean showers or longer spells of rain will affect the much of the UK at times. Some heavy rain or showers are expected in places, most often in the west. Thunderstorms and hail are also possible, as are some spells of strong winds if any deep areas of low pressure form in the vicinity of the UK. Some short-lived spells of drier and more settled weather are also possible at times, especially later in the period when they may last a little longer. Temperatures will likely be close to average or slightly below overall, but may rise above at times in any drier, sunnier spells.
