Fine for the morning after a chilly start, although this sunshine turning increasingly hazy as the wind picks up and cloud thickens from the northwest. Eventually rather cloudy and windy, with rain spreading southeast to end the day. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

Cloud and rain clearing southeast, with one or two sharp showers perhaps following in the east, otherwise a drier and clearer night with winds easing. Chilly by dawn. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Monday:

Mainly fine after a chilly start, with a lot of cloud around, but still with some sunny spells. One or two showers are possible, these mainly in the east. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

A quiet period weather-wise, with some sunny spells but rather a lot of clud around at times, with a little rain perhaps most likely Thursday. Rather warm, but trending cooler.

A broad northwest to southeast split is most likely during this period. The northwest is likely to be more unsettled with low pressure systems moving in at times, bringing periods of strong winds and showers or longer spells of rain. In the southeast, high pressure will have greater influence, with more settled, drier weather as a result. Temperatures overall are likely to be near to or slightly above normal, but there remains the chance of some overnight frost.

High pressure may be dominant early in this period, which would bring plenty of dry and settled weather across the UK, especially in the south and perhaps east. Any low pressure systems bringing wetter, windier weather are most likely to affect the north. Towards the latter part of April, low pressure patterns may become more prevalent, with unsettled or more changeable conditions developing widely. Temperatures are likely to be close to or slightly above normal.
