Some patchy light rain and hill snow in the northeast to start. Heavier more persistent rain spreads northeast overnight, turning to snow to low levels across much of Caithness and Sutherland. Strengthening winds. Minimum temperature -1 °C.
A wet start with heavy rain, some snow initially along the north coast. Persistent rain clears to heavy afternoon showers. Fresh or strong winds, easing in the north later. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
A bitterly cold few days with strong northerly winds and wintry showers, organised bands of sleet or snow forming at times. Drier further south with some winter sunshine here.
