Today:

It will be cool and windy. Mainly cloudy with frequent showers in the west, these spreading east during the morning. A few sunny intervals between showers. Showers may be heavy at times. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

It will remain cool and windy through the evening and overnight with further frequent showers feeding in from the west, some clearer spells possible at times towards Inverness and Nairn. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Wednesday:

It will be another cool and breezy day with sunny spells and occasional showers, most frequent in the west. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Sunshine and occasional showers continue Thursday to Saturday, heavy at times. Feeling cool for June. Winds easing through Thursday.

The unsettled weather of previous days is expected to continue at least through the start of this period, with many - if not all - areas seeing showers or longer spells of rain, and occasionally strong winds. At first, wet weather may be focussed across the south of the UK but it looks like this focus will fairly quickly shift northwards during the first few days. Towards the middle of June, there is an increased chance that high pressure will become more dominant, at least in the south. This would result in some longer periods of drier weather, although unsettled spells remain likely. Following a rather cool start to this period, there is a greater chance of warmer spells towards mid-June.

Changeable weather is most likely across the UK with a mixture of Atlantic weather systems moving in from the west interspersed with dry and sunny periods, perhaps with a bias towards longer dry spells early in the period. Temperatures are most likely to be near or slightly above normal, perhaps with some hot spells at times especially across the south.
