Frequent wintry showers.

Today:

Frequent, often heavy snow showers across the Northwest Highlands and Speyside. Largely dry and sunny further south, although scattered rain, sleet and snow showers across the Hebrides. Very cold with strong northerly winds. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Tonight:

Snow showers continuing across the Northwest Highlands and Speyside overnight, with rain or sleet at times around the coasts. Dry and clear further south. Minimum temperature -4 °C.

Thursday:

Further rain, sleet or snow showers. These become increasingly confined to the coastal areas through the day, with good sunny spells inland. Winds easing. Largely dry by evening. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Cold dry start to Friday. Rain and hill snow spread east later. Less cold over the weekend with a mix of dry spells, some showers or longer spells of rain.
