This Evening and Tonight:

Rain, occasionally heavy, will move in from the west during the evening. This will be accompanied by unseasonably strong southerly winds with severe gales for a time over the Western Isles. Rain clearing overnight followed by showers in the west. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Tuesday:

Cool and windy conditions. Mainly cloudy with frequent showers in the west, these spreading east during the morning. A few sunny intervals between showers. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Windy on Wednesday then winds easing Thursday and Friday. Sunshine and occasional showers, heavy at times. Longer spells of rain for a time on Wednesday night. Feeling cool for June.

The unsettled weather of previous days is expected to continue at least through the start of this period, with many - if not all - areas seeing showers or longer spells of rain, and occasionally strong winds. At first, wet weather may be focussed across the south of the UK but it looks like this focus will fairly quickly shift northwards during the first few days. Towards the middle of June, there is an increased chance that high pressure will become more dominant, at least in the south. This would result in some longer periods of drier weather, although unsettled spells remain likely. Following a rather cool start to this period, there is a greater chance of warmer spells towards mid-June.

Changeable weather is most likely across the UK with a mixture of Atlantic weather systems moving in from the west interspersed with dry and sunny periods, perhaps with a bias towards longer dry spells early in the period. Temperatures are most likely to be near or slightly above normal, perhaps with some hot spells at times especially across the south.
