    Cloudy with outbreaks of occasionally heavy rain spreading northeast this evening, reaching Orkney around mid-evening and Shetland towards midnight. Drier weather reaches Orkney by midnight, and Shetland later in the night. Strong southeasterly then southwesterly winds. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

    Friday:

    A few bright spells otherwise rather cloudy at times with blustery showers, occasionally prolonged and heavy. Windy with strong to gale force westerly or southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

    Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

    Rather cloudy on Saturday with a little patchy rain. Remaining rather cloudy on Sunday and Monday with some showery rain at times. Strengthening southeasterly winds.
