A fine but cool start. Sunny spells through the morning, turning cloudier into the afternoon but still with bright or sunny intervals. One or two showers possible, these mainly towards Kent. Breezy but winds easing later. Temperatures near average. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Generally dry with some clear spells at first, but cloud thickening from the west after midnight, bringing some patchy rain and drizzle eastwards through the early hours. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Tuesday:

A rather cloudy start, with some patchy light rain or drizzle. However, becoming mostly dry into the afternoon with bright intervals developing. Feeling noticeably milder with just a gentle breeze. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Wednesday, rather cloudy but some brighter intervals. Mostly dry. Mild. Rain moving south overnight, perhaps lingering but weakening Thursday. Cooler. Friday, variable cloud, patchy rain easing. Wet and windy later.

A broad northwest to southeast split is most likely during this period. The northwest is likely to be more unsettled with low pressure systems moving in at times, bringing periods of strong winds and showers or longer spells of rain. In the southeast, high pressure will have greater influence, with more settled, drier weather as a result. Temperatures overall are likely to be near to or slightly above normal, but there remains the chance of some overnight frost.

High pressure may be dominant early in this period, which would bring plenty of dry and settled weather across the UK, especially in the south and perhaps east. Any low pressure systems bringing wetter, windier weather are most likely to affect the north. Towards the latter part of April, low pressure patterns may become more prevalent, with unsettled or more changeable conditions developing widely. Temperatures are likely to be close to or slightly above normal.
